Jr. Rocket Owls Programs
In the Jr. Rocket Owls program, the 5th graders learned basic physics and math concepts related to rocketry, and have successfully built and launched their Level 1 rockets. During the last three sessions, they learned how to use the professional RockeSim computer software to simulate the flight of their Level 2 rocket (a two-stage Loadstar II), built these rockets and created scientific payloads for them. They are excited about launching the Level 2 rockets in February and analyzing the data collected during launch. Here is a short video, showcasing the 5th graders describing their payloads and the scientific questions that they have come up with at our last meeting, on January 9.
